UK Bullion Premium Index: what buyers pay over spot
Published on the 1st of each month from the previous month's readings. The average premium over spot across a fixed basket, the cheapest and dearest dealer, the biggest moves, round-trip trends and stock-out days. Every figure is computed from stored data; nothing is written by hand or by a model.

All months
No Index yet. The first edition appears on the 1st of the month after a full month of readings. Until then, each product page shows the daily premium history as it builds.
The basket
Gold: 1oz Gold Britannia, Gold Sovereign, 1oz Gold Bar, 100g Gold Bar. Silver: 1oz Silver Britannia, 1kg Silver Bar. The basket is fixed; changes are announced here and dated.
Method
For each basket product and each day, we take the mean premium across the dealers we measure. The monthly figure is the mean of those daily means. Cheapest and dearest dealer are by mean premium across all basket readings in the month (minimum ten readings). Round trip is the headline round trip (cheapest buy anywhere against best buyback anywhere), averaged across days. A stock-out day is one on which no measured dealer had the product in stock. Full method.
