Gap = (cheapest selling total − best buyback) ÷ cheapest selling total. Selling totals include delivery and, for silver, 20% VAT, which buyback prices do not refund.
Method
For each product we compare the highest published buyback price across all measured dealers with the lowest selling total (including delivery) across all measured dealers, from the latest readings. A negative gap would mean one dealer pays more than another charges. We also count how many of the days we have measured ever showed a negative gap. Published prices move during the day and dealers can refuse or reprice, so a gap in the data is not an offer.
